Vehicles for VEDS is a fundraiser that raises funds and spreads awareness for Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (VEDS) a rare and serious life-threating connective tissue disorder that has no medication, therapy or cure.  

What is VEDS: VEDS is an inherited connective tissue disorder that is caused by defects in a protein called collagen. It is generally considered the most severe form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS)  is an inherited connective tissue disorder that is caused by defects in a protein called collagen. 

Complications and Life expectancy of those with VEDS: People with VEDS have a high risk of complications and problems related to bleeding or fragile internal tissues and organs. Most people with this condition will have at least one instance of severe complications or related conditions by age 20. The risk of having life-threatening complications is 80% by age 40. Half of the people with this condition will live to at least age 48. 

The Drive: . On October 7th, 2023 starting  at 9:00 AM.  The Event will consist of a small breakfast, then a 1.5 - 2  hour loop through New York and New Jersey . We will head over to Hawks Nest, a Scenic byway, on our way back down, we will stop by the highpoint monument, then head back to our meeting place the Blue Arrow Farm where everyone will participate in Cruise vehicle judging, parting to a live band having a few food trucks and grabbing some dinner from a food truck.  We will have a silent auction and a kid's area.
