Why do we do this?

Awarness

To explain why we do this, you need to know our story. A story that ends with my son, who, as he gets older, will not be able to enjoy the things other kids, his age do. He needed to quit football and wrestling, not be able to ride a rollercoaster or play any other contact sports. My son and I will always need to worry about if the pain we are feeling in our body is serious and may require emergency intervention because an organ may rupture or if it is nothing. We have to live with the fact that there is a good chance that I may not be here to watch him walk for his high school diploma.  To read our story first click here

Awareness and Education is the key to survival for those with VEDS. Our goal is to bring awareness and Education to every emergency medical professional willing to listen and support the kids who need a modified life.   The money donations are used to help fund research and put together Awareness and education programs in hopes that one day The medical community can develop some therapy to help extend the lives of those with VEDS.

Doctors are trained in school. Don't expect to see a Zebra if you hear hoofs behind you. They are saying that when treating people, don't look for the rare and unexpected because when you hear hoofs, it is almost always a horse. This mentality can lead to missed or undiagnosed issues.
